Description

A great mentalism effect for small groups to huge crowds.

Effect: A pile of cards with the name of a movie star on each one is shown to a helper. They remove one and it's placed into an envelope, whilst the magician turns away - the remaining cards are removed. It's a completely free choice.

There are no stacks, and no card set up - they can be freely shuffled by the spectator first. The cards are not marked. The envelope is 100% opaque. The spectator holds the envelope with their card inside, in front of their face - and the performer asks a member of the audience which movie the spectator has secretly selected. They instantly know the movie star - and call it out to great hilarity. How could they know?

The magician then reveals the secret to the helper. He then does the trick again - this time showing that there is no "gimmick" involved and the envelope is placed in full view of the audience.

The spectator is asked to concentrate on the movie star's name which is written on their secretly selected card. This time the magician reads their mind and reveals details about the star - eventually giving their name. He's 100% correct!

No sleights are required, easy to make, big impact. There are a couple of bonus visual gags to try. Another great effect for a bargain price.
