It is so-named because it is meant to accompany the Tarbell Course in Magic and the ideal reader should own or at least have studied those volumes to use this book to its best advantage. While there have been other works based on the Tarbell Course this book uses the Tarbell System, the original mail order course, as its main source of inspiration.
