Another Five Kinks by Ian Baxter

Five old chestnuts from the literature of card magic which were given the Baxter 'treatment', resulting in streamlined handlings and giving these venerable plots a breath of fresh air.

Underhanded Overhand is an extremely well finessed handling of the old ruse of appearing to have the entire deck shuffled with each half being shuffled independently.

The Cross Cut Force has been around since the 1920's and has remained virtually unchanged ever since. It is a simple move, but difficult to perform convincingly. Ian has taken another tack and by slightly changing the choreography of the move, has managed to make it even more deceptive and sure fire.

Easier Peek is a straightforward effect from Paul Rosini in which two cards are peeked, the second choice magically rising to the top of the deck and then instantly changing to the first peeked card. Rosini's method requires two Side Steals and a Top Change. Ian's method is equally effective and virtually self working.

Lightning Sandwich is exactly that. Two black cards are placed aside, then a card is peeked at somewhere near the middle of the deck. The two black cards are now replaced, one near the top, the other near the bottom. Instantly, the deck is spread and the two black cards jump to the middle, sandwiching the selected card. Again, this is almost self working and relies more on subtlety than sleights.

The Keg Poker Deal is a streamlined version of an Annemann poker stack in which either a Royal Flush, Four Of A Kind, or a Full House can be dealt to any one of the nominated players. A very simple set up and a few jog shuffles are the only requirements.
