The routine is better suited for a group but can be easily adapted and performed for on-on-ones up to audiences filling a theatre. The plot is as follow:

The Mystery Artist says he's often asked if he can predict the winning numbers of the lottery. He admits he can't, because it's not people who decide on the numbers. But if it were people,well... Let's try. Six random spectators are asked to choose a number to play. Then the Mystery Artist reminds the host he received a sealed envelope a few days ago. The envelope is taken out of the safe it was kept in and brought forward to the table. It is opened. A lottery ticket is taken out, torn open (it was folded AND stapled!). The numbers are those the audience just chose!

Depending on said audience, the Mystery Artist is either acclaimed or burned.
