Pokemonte by Michael O'Brien

The magician introduces an envelope containing a mystery prediction. A spectator is asked to name their favorite Pokémon. "Would you be impressed if the Pokémon you chose is actually on a piece of paper right here in this envelope?" The magician reaches inside the envelope and produces a booklet called "The Complete Pokédex." All of them are in there!



After this fun little gag, the magician goes on to introduce a Pokémon Manga. A page is chosen from the manga at random and the spectator memorizes a word on the page. The magician struggles to guess the word properly, but writes one down anyway. "What word were you thinking of?" The spectator says "Golduck" a Pokémon name. The magicians prediction is revealed to be "Fifty Five." BUT WAIT! Pokémon have numbers!



The magician opens "The Complete Pokédex" and turns to the page containing Pokémon #55. It is revealed to be "Golduck!"
